This is one of the best detoxifying herbal tea recipes for a calmer gut. It is a traditional recipe passed down by our grandmother in India who swore by its power to rid the gut of toxins and maintain healthy digestion.

The concoction combines the digestive properties of herbs like Triphala, mint and cardamom which fight bad bacteria and promote a healthy gut microbiome, with supercharged antioxidants like ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and turmeric. Honey is added for its anti-bacterial properties that help boost the immune system and acts as a carrier for the efficient absorption of all the ingredients. You may additionally use a tea bag of your favorite herbal tea, though it is not required.

INGREDIENTS

1 teaspoon Vedic Tiger’s Happy Belly Organic and Vegan Digestive Gut Detox Powder (with Triphala)

1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed Ginger juice

½ Cinnamon stick

2  Cloves

1 Cardamon pod or ¼ teaspoon cardamon powder  

3 pinches of turmeric

1 teaspoon Manuka honey  

2 fresh mint leaves

1 tea bag of your favorite herbal tea (Optional)

 DIRECTION

1. If using a tea bag, seep one bag of your favorite herbal tea in hot water.
2. Add the Happy Belly Digestive Gut Powder, Cinnamon stick, Cloves, Cardamom and Turmeric in the water. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes
3. Add manuka honey and top it off with the fresh mint leaves.
